The 2012 annual report of the Society for Voluntary Control of Trade Fair and Exhibition Statistics (FKM) contains certified data that helps exhibitors and visitors to plan their participation in exhibitions. The basic data and visitor statistics for last year were obtained on the basis of uniform criteria and are also available online at www.fkm.de. Information can also be obtained for numerous trade fairs held during the first half of 2013.

Commenting on the recently published report, FKM’s chairman Wolfgang Marzin said: “Whether they are newcomers or regular exhibitors, companies want reliable data to facilitate their decision-making as regards trade fairs. In particular, they want to know which trade fairs attract a large number of their target audiences. Detailed visitor breakdown statistics certified by FKM provide valuable help for evaluating events.”

Last year a total of 57 German organisers belonging to FKM had their exhibitions audited. In addition to supplying basic data such as exhibitor, stand space and visitor figures for 220 events, FKM provides detailed information on trade visitors and the general public for 177 trade fairs, including their origin, influence on purchasing decisions and their job position within the company. In addition to German member companies, the two guest members from abroad, the Verona Trade Fair Company and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, had a total of 16 trade fairs audited.
